In short
- The bank statements you convert are processed in your own browser. They are only sent to us if you choose to report a problem (see section 7).
- We do not use tracking cookies, analytics or advertising tools.
- When you buy Business or Team, we process the data needed for the contract, the payment and the invoice.
Controller

1. Converting statements
When you open a PDF, it is read by JavaScript in your browser and the result is created there as well. Neither the PDF nor the transactions are transmitted. A password for a protected PDF is used only in your browser.
2. Visiting the website
Our server receives the technical data every browser sends (IP address, browser type, requested page) to deliver the website. We do not keep access logs and set no cookies. The converter stores a few settings on your device (browser storage): your export preferences, your license key, the start date of your trial, the date of your last free conversion and a random device ID.
3. License check
If you activate a license, the converter and the extension send your license key and a random device ID to our server to confirm that the license is valid. Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
4. Buying Business or Team
We process your company name, name, email address, address, country and VAT number, the plan you chose and your payment status. We use this to provide the license, to send invoices and to meet tax obligations. Legal basis: contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). We keep invoice data for seven years, as required by Dutch tax law.
To check VAT numbers we use the VIES service of the European Commission. Payments are handled by Mollie B.V., Amsterdam, which acts as an independent controller for the payment data. Emails are sent through Google Workspace. Our server is hosted in the Netherlands.
5. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Email info@bedrijfsboekhouder.com. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the authority in your country.
6. Browser extension
The extension converts statements in your browser in the same way. It reads a PDF only when you open it in the converter or choose "Convert bank statement" on a link. It does not collect browsing data.
7. Reporting a problem
If a conversion is not right, you can help us with the button “Help us improve this statement”. Nothing is sent until you click it and press Send. We then receive:
- the layout of the statement: positions of the text, dates and amounts. Names, account numbers, descriptions and other text have already been replaced with x and 9 in your browser;
- what you fill in yourself: the name of the bank, a note and optionally your e-mail address;
- only if you tick the separate box: the original PDF statement.
We use this only to improve the converter. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time via info@bedrijfsboekhouder.com. The report is stored on our server in the Netherlands and deleted automatically after 30 days. To build the improvement we may have the anonymised layout analysed by an AI assistant (Anthropic), which does not use the data for its own purposes.
